John,
The 746 may be state of the art as of May, but Orion will be out later, and
thus cannot be called that until it runs the lab.

I know the guys in the ARRL Lab, and they do NOT scrimp on the tests!   In
fact, they are sometimes a bit too harsh, as they were with the way the
original Scout review was written.  TT had admitted, that the stare of the
microprocessor used was such, that it could not correct PTO and handle the
keyer, IF you sent faster than 25 wpm.  QST made it sound like a bug they
found, and had to retract and admit it was covered clearly in the Ten Tec
manual.  It was only a trade off to make the price point, as most hams do
not send CW continuously at 25 wpm and were and ARE perfectly happy with the
frequency stability of their Scout.

John, it is only a hobby, so don't worry, the Orion will do what it does,
and hopefully there will be some unused adjectives left at ARRL for them to
use in its review.
