[TenTec] Bottom area of Jupiter display - radio locks up

Try this:

(Do these steps one after the other, immediately,
  with no hesitation between them).

Press SWEEP. Get a sweep display.
Press STEP.
Press STEP.
Press SWEEP (clears SWEEP display)
Press SWEEP (get another SWEEP display)
Press STEP.
Press STEP.

Does the audio become mute and the radio then
emit a high pitched whine?

Do the buttons work, but the knobs don't?

Do you have to turn the radio off then on to
clear it up?

Will the Orion behave this erratically? I hope not.
