[TenTec] 2-meter - 10-meter Transverter

Does anyone have any experience with the Ten-TEc 2-10 xverter?

I am considering using one on my Omni VI+ to get on EME.  I am just starting this, and know little about EME.  I read that you need a low noise figure for EME, but the Ten Tec specs say 7db.  That seems high to me.

Does an antenna mounted pre-amp negate that high figure?  Do I need to worry about it?

Thoughts appreciated.
