[TenTec] Hercules I ??

Avoid it like the plague.  I had one. . .  Hadn't had it long (second hand)
when it caught fire.  I think they had to etch a new circuit board for it.
Transistors for it are about nonexistant.  It has a tendency to be unstable,
going into a destructive oscillation.  When Ten-Tec fixed mine they assured
me that it was the LAST one they would work on.  I don't know if they kept
to this or not, but they said it had just gone out of production 10 years
ago and that was how long they felt obligated to support it.

The Hercules 444 (you called it the Hercules 1) matches the Omni-C, B and A.
It uses a stepping relay to change bands following the signal supplied by an
interconnecting cable from the Omni's.  The amp runs on 48 volts and has
lots of protective circuitry, but that didn't prevent the fire.  It has a
temperature controlled fan speed and sounds loud when cool, but like a 747
when hot.  All in all, I'd not go there again even if the thing were given
to me. . .  Life's too short.
