[TenTec] Power supply question

Hello to the group and Happy New Year. 

My brother recently picked up a used Omni 6+ and model 962 power 
supply. He says the power supply seems to run very warm when just 
idling along and after our QSO last night was pretty toasty. I don't 
use a Ten Tec supply with my Omni 6+ so can anyone tell me if this is 
normal for the Ten Tec supply or not?
