Folks:

My Japan Radio JST-245 has excellent receive audio. Probably the best of 
any production ham transceiver. There's no reason why it can't be done, and 
done in the original design. No mods needed. Kudos to Hosokai, JA1JKG, a 
driving force in the development of the JST-245 at Japan Radio.

I use my OMNI VI for CW.
