I'm seeing a similar thing on my Omni VI, except it's popping the PS breaker
at about 8 or 10 watts on the low bands and about 25 watts on 10m.

I also get some intermittency or breakup/down of some sort as I slowly run
the power control up and it gets close to the point where it wll trip the
breaker.  I've swapped power supplies with my Omni VI+ and there's no
difference (so that should kill one of the Svc Mgr's favorite pet
references).

Fortunately, it's radio number 2 on the desktop and since I use it QRP in
contests, it's not that big a problem--if it starts tripping at 5w or below,
then it will be a big problem.  But it is going to TT service after ARRL DX
CW.
