[TenTec] RE:OMNI 6+ / HEIL MIC'S

I have an OMNI 6+ and I recently tried a friends Heil goldline mic but could 
not
get it to pick up any audio. I could key the radio, but was not getting audio 
out.
The Heil mic was wired for an OMNI 5 (factory cord from Heil) and Ten Tec 
said
they are the same as an OMNI 6+. It works fine on my friends OMNI 5. Does
