Let me make sure I got this right.
1.You didn't buy the 705 because you don't like the way it feels.
2. You paid a couple hundred bucks for a Heil Classic "Broadcast" microphone
because you do like the way it feels.
3. You are not totally happy with the audio reports you're getting while
"feeling" the Heil.
You've lost that lov'in feeling ---oh oh oh---that lov'in feeling. Now it's
gone, gone, gone.
There ought to be a song in there somewhere!
ROFLMAO!!!!

Seriously, the 705/Peg combination provides excellent communications quality
audio. I have also used the Shure 444D with good results. The Heil HC-4 and
HC-5 like yours, only got so/so reports. The broader element used in the
Goldline is about the best sound your going to get from a Heil. I also found
that the Kenwood MC-50 gets only so/so reports with the Peg.
I use a Marshall 2001P Studio Mic at 3KC xmit filter, or the 705 at 255 KC
xmit filter, depending on whether I want broadcast quality audio or
communication quality audio.
Cheers!
