[TenTec] Mic or Rig ?

I bought a used OMNI D series C and later bought a
used electret hand mic. The rig keys with the mic but
there's zero output on the wattmeter. Is there some
way I can test the electret hand mic to see if it's
the mic or the rig that's at fault ?
