[TenTec] 509 S-Meter isn't working

What should I check to get the S-meter functioning again?  I have cleaned
the switch contacts.  It seems to be an intermittent problem.  I poked
around back of the S-meter and had it going again, but that didn't last long
  I have no idea what I may have moved.  If it is cold solder joints, which
ones should I resolder?
