here in FL we have a flip flop version :-)

I prefer a BIG footswitch...my pa built one out of a typing table
wing....attached its hinge to another board and mounted a heavy duty
momentary switch to some wedge shaped 2X4 lumber in the middle....I found
that for extended use this was easier to use...at times during contests I
would rotate the unit 180 degrees and rest my foot on the high die of the
board for a change of pace - the big target area meant you had to work to
miss it!
