[TenTec] TenTec popularity in Japan?

All,

I just finished reading an article in an old edition of QST regarding an
editor's visit to Japan for their annual ham radio convention (Dayton East,
if you will).  The article has me wondering; how popular are TenTec's radios
in Japan?  I know that certain US made products like classic cars, clothes,
etc have strong popularity over there, but does anyone know if TenTec enjoys
any kind of market share in the land of Kenwood, Yaesu and Icom?
