I use rubbery mouse pads under my paddles. I like the Best Buy house brand black and yellow mouse pads best. The rubbery pad does a good job keeping the paddles for walking. I have MFJ, Bencher, Kent, and Vibroplex paddles and the Kent iambic is the most walk resistant without a mouse pad.
