my aging 544 triton transceiver -  having an intermittent problem with
bandswitch - while in use, at times readout goes to 1.000.0 and output
falls  - sometimes receiver stops, sometimes not -
repositioning bandswitch solves problem.

is this a case of some service needed on bandswitch or is my dear old
set up (544, matching vfo, keyer, ps) just getting too old?
Also, digital display very erratic on transmit (cw) swinging +400 khz, -
50 khz while keying - 
any suggestions
