[TenTec] Dayton and the 516

I looked at the 516 and noticed something disturbing about the meter also.  If you looked inside the 516 with the plexiglas top at the back side of the front panel PCB, the meter movement was not enclosed!!!??  I thought it might just be a mock-up thing and the real meter movement would be enclosed in a case.  Not so according to one of the TenTec reps at the booth.  I asked him about dirt and small metal particals being sucked it the unenclosed movement and he said that they were not experencing any problems with it unenclosed.  Could someone who owns a 526 look inside and see if they used an enclosed or unenclosed meter movement?  I would like to know.
