I just finished OMNI V.9 mods by Carl Moreschi N4PY to my Omni V.
I replaced the EPROM with Carl's program. After a few resets and a
clearing of memories everything is functioning as advertized. I also did
CW spotting mode with diode. Have not check its operation out yet.
I also did the comport hardware modification using 7417. "This mod
causes send data and receive data to be on one line to perfectly emulate
the ICOM CIV serial interface."

I have a couple of questions though, not having a Omni VI manual, do I
need to use a null cable or regular serial cable? What should I set baud
rate and parity at? And which radio emulation should I choose in my
Logging software?

I also have not moved the keys around yet and I am contemplating methods
that would forego the button switching all together and use some sort of
labeling material to cover exisiting buttons. Has anyone out there had
any experience with this?
