Bencher is now making the Mercury. It's the one I was thinking of in my
previous paddle post that they want around 500 bucks(!) for.

Hi Larry -

Have you ever tried the round Mercury paddle? It weighs
4 pounds and never moves. At least mine never has. I've
been pounding brass for a very long time. It beats the
Vibrokeyer which I replaced with a Mercury paddle built by
the designer, N2DAN (now SK), six years ago. No "walking"
around the desk with it. Never had trouble with intermittent
contact closure, or with the adjusting screws going loose
once they are set and locked. Try one if you can. It really
is the best paddle ever made.
