You may, like many of us, be interested in the "FFT" - Fast Fourier Transform
that is being advertised as part of the new ORION programming. I asked our
prime source, Doug Smith, for a reference to FFT and what it means. Here is
his thoughtful answer.

Get your thinking caps on!! this is heavy duty and complex
(like the new ORION :-)

Shared from Doug Smith:
My article "Signals, Samples and Stuff:
A DSP Tutorial, Part 3" has descriptions of
FFTs and how to compute them. The article
may be downloaded from my Web page
at http://www.doug-smith.net/downloads.htm

It is also on http://www.arrl.org/tis/info/dsp.html
Recent editions of the ARRL Handbook,
2001 and 2002, have a similar treatment of
FFTs in Chapter 18.
