Robert, can you hook your Omni up to an Astron, get the battery out of your 
truck, or something? I had that problem, and found just a leeeetle bit of RF 
was getting into the power supply and shutting things off.

I solved that problem with a ground mounted lightning arrestor attached to a 
triple ground rod setup and a radioworks line isolator on the shack side of 
the arrestor.
