[TenTec] Omni VI Plus freq. readout: WHAT MATTERS

Well....

On a "trying to be helpful note":

I've seen this problem also. I'm not lucky enough to own a "6", but
I do own a Corsair. What I see is that the frequency "normally" drifts
a grand total of maybe 1 KHz, in about the first hour. After that, I use
it on PSK31 and its perfect...no drift at all that I can measure on
instruments
nor see on the waterfall display.

If your rig differs "significantly" from this, then I would say its an
actual
problem, rather than the normal thing. Of course the crystal could drift,
but my experience is that capacitors drift much more with temperature
and voltage than crystals do. I'd start looking there.

Or, if not willing to go inside the rig, I'd certainly recommend sending the
unit to TT. Met all the folks down there at the Hamfest, and I think I
can gaurantee that you will be well taken care of.

73 de Gary, AA2IZ

P.S. You're right....nastiness has no place here. Period.
