All this debate about FSK vs. AFSK is a little silly.
It's like debating the merits of going into town with
a horse and buggy vs. horse and saddle when there is a
horseless carriage sitting in the garage.

With a DSP IF radio there is no good technical reason
that the modulation and demodulation of most data mode
signals should not be done in the radios DSP itself,
you shouldn't even need an outboard RTTY demodulator
or PC sound card interface of any kind.
