[TenTec] Enhanced SSB = ACSSB ???

So has anyone else besides me ever pondered the
feasibility of implementing Amplitude Companded Single
Side Band (ACSSB) today using firmware updates to
DSP-IF radios like the Pegasus/Jupiter/516/Orion??
Perhaps the whole ACSSB concept was just 20 years
ahead of its time?
