One caveat with the ground rod installation through the basement slab . 
. .  ensure you research your drainage tile location within the 
boundaries of the walls, otherwise you may wish you never began the 
ground rod installation.  Most basement slabs not only have perimeter 
drainage tiles outside the perimeter, but also inside, and diagonally 
within the walls.  These typically tie into the sump and sump pump 
system, so be careful.

A good RF ground is great, but not at the expense of a compromised tile 
system.
