for a commercial used Lambda switching power supply that will easily handly
80 amps.  I was fortunate to get one rated at 100 Amps for not much more
than the price of an Astron linear that would handle 30 Amps.  Supply is
very clean RF wise, and easily handles my OMNI VI+ / Hercules II station.
Highly recommended.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering about that after I sent in the
comment. The ORION manual says without 25 A the transmitter may put out
less than 100 watts. I guess that means an Astron linear :-)

Anyhow, I may be old fashioned, but I would be just a little more
comfortable using a linear with the Orion.
