I wonder about the answer to your first question too and like you I 
suspect accidental transposition of data as the cause.  So far as close 
in degradation on the K2 is concerned; I strongly suspect this to be due 
to the rather gentle skirt slope of the K2 xtal ladder filter.

BTW my Orion was shipped by TT last Wednesday.  I have my fingers 
crossed it will arrive here today or tomorrow.
