Oh $#!+ Scott! Now you've done it! Don't these guys read this
reflector? Now I'll have to send them all a personal message and ask
them if they want to reconsider because:

1. Orion cannot hear weak signals...especially in heavy QRM. Both
ARRL's ETR measurements and contest results definitely proved this.

2. Orion's IP2 is so bad that Slovenians are using it to listen to the VOA
on 40 meters. I'll bet if Orion only had a color display
they could tune in and watch the Oprah Winfrey show during those slow
contest periods!

3. Orion cannot transmit (no PTT on CW)...this is definitely a show-
stopper, especially for the more technically astute gurus.

4. Orion has numerous problems which Ten-Tec is doing absolutely
nothing about (compared to Yaesu's EXCELLENT support in fixing the
MP's IF hiss, clicks, etc in the 8+ years it has been in production).

Attention YCCC and all serious contesters! PLEASE do not buy an
Orion...especially if you are competing with me. ;-)

                                         73, Bill W4ZV

P.S. We need a Top Ten List..."Scott's Top Ten Reasons NOT to buy an
Orion". I'm going to bed or I would add 6 more. Any takers?
