Yea Al. My buddy K1WGM told me that in the late fall, he put bright red CF
on his inverted vee wires and the crows slide UP the wires!! Did you observe
that also?? (BTW, bright red CF is the only CF that doesn't freeze in the NE
winters.)

I have found that here in upstate NY, especially during the winter, a
liberal
amount of CF on the antenna will keep it slick enough to keep the crows from
spending any time on the wire.  Having an inverted vee doesn't hurt none,
either.
