It is possible that one needed to remove a jumper prior to installing the
noise blanker.  I'm pretty sure you had to do that with the CW filter, and
logic indicates that you would need to break the signal path to install the
blanker in the rig.  If the jumper wasn't removed, perhaps you are getting
some sort of feedback through the blanker.
