[TenTec] TenTec/Vibroplex-the end

Hi Tim,

I've been following this thread but I just haven't had time to respond and I
am chomping at the bit. I do agree with you. Quality at Vibroplex has
slipped! No doubt about it. I recently bought the Code Warrior Jr paddles
for my Argonaut V. I've been a Vibroplex fan going back to the 70's and I
thought I knew what to expect. Well, contact alignment was off and they
don't even line up right after adjustment. There was a heavy burr around
the acrylic paddles and the adjustment in the magnets is not enough to
reduce the tension to a reasonable level. I was tempted but that is the
reason I didn't order the Ten-Tec/Vibroplex paddles. I moved my HBL paddles
to the Argonaut V and I bought the Schurr Profi II paddles to use with my
Pegasus. My Vibroplex paddles are in a drawer.

Like you, I am not trolling for flames from the Vibroplex faithful. It is
unfortunate that you cannot constructively criticize a product where QC has
slipped. They used to be great. I've owned may Vibroplex paddles, bugs
(never could master these) and keyers. Can you make then work and work well
now? Yes, but why can't they work right out of the box. Why do they
require a rebuild? The faithful will always and blindly support Vibroplex
but new customers like you will make your paddles work and never buy another
Vibroplex product. I know I won't. And Vibroplex with either improve the
QC or go out of business.

73,
