Re: IsoLine
If it's really got 50/60db isolation, it is not a 'reasonably
good item', it is one heck of an excellent item! Think I paid over $500
for an HF combiner/splitter with 40db isolation for my network analyzer!
Doug says the ARRL has one for testing, so will be interesting to see
their results.

Subject: RE: [TenTec] More IP3 Stuff
Well, the discussion on this has died down a bit. I'm hoping that I'm in
the same boat as many (translation: I hope I'm not the most ignorant on
the
reflector! ;-) and am trying to digest all of the information and
discussion about the subject. Until I get a bench set up in the garage
(translation: XYL will kill me if I try to take over the kitchen table
for
a week!) and can do some of that testing on my own, I'm going to make a
couple assumptions.
1) Measuring the IP3 isn't a total indication of real world performance
but
we don't have a better test yet.
2) A really good AGC helps and the closser to the 1st RF stage the
better.
3) Filtering is good & the sooner the better. High 'Q' preselection at
the
antenna would be ideal.
4) A receiver could be built but, unless you have an unlimited budget
(your
tax dollars at work?), we have to balance the trade offs.
Question: For the 2 tone testing, the TT Model 651 IsoLine Combiner /
Splitter
is a reasonably good item?
