Be sure the doorknob capacitors have an RF current rating.  A pF value and a
DCV value isn't really adequate for most RF purposes.

Try using mica transmitting capacitors for the application.. Yes, they are
big and they are expensive but they work.  For example a HT-57 series 1000pf
@ 15KV and 5.1 amps sells for some $36.00.  A HT-58 series ( much smaller
physically) 1000pF @ 7.5 KV and 5.6A sells for $14.00.

Surplus Sales of Nebraska has them.
