This is true.  I believe Cryptologic Technicians (Technical and Collection) ratings still go to code school, or at least they can as an option.

  CW is still taught at Ft Huachuca, AZ for ALL services.
  The emphasis is on Intelligence gathering, not tactical comms.

  I have a good friend (a Navy Comm Tech 3rd Class) who is slated to
  attend that school.
