Yes,  I use my N4PY software controlled Orion for SSB
in our allowed band of 7.075 to 7.100 out here in KH6,  as
well as the usual US 40 meter phone segment.  Just
don't check the "rig follows license class" box;  it then
will transmit anything,  anywhere in the ham bands.  
BTW,  Carl's software already has the 60 meter SSB
band button in place.
