I am happy to see it. I use CTWin and the keying circuit from the PC is
connected to the PTT circuit via a switching transistor built into the PC
parallel connector. I can then use the built in keyer to send the manual
information that is requested.<<

I use TRlog, also N1MM Logger uses separate PTT line.

1. keep the continuity between SSB and CW controls, PTT is a PTT. What is the
sense of switching to CW, pressing your PTT button on the mike to "send" CW?
That's what VOX is for.

2. allows you to set your own timing and control of amplifier switching and
other gizmos that are used for SO2R.

3. allows you to turn the rig and amp to TX without sending CW, like you want
to check idling current or antenna switching without keying signal

There are enough connectors for KEY line, why rape the the PTT line for that
purpose?

If there is no way to separate them in the Orion, then I am deeply
dissapointed, so much money so little for the CW man. There should be at least option to
program that.
Otherwise it is a major no-no.
