Hi John,

What a great story!  Glad your dream finally came true.  I did get my
license at age 13 thanks to a local "Elmer" and have enjoyed the hobby
for the last fifty years!  I have been trying to restore a duplicate of
my first general class station and have finally done it.....a Viking
Adventurer transmitter, Heathkit VF-1 VFO and Heathkit AR-2 receiver with
a QF-1 Q-multiplier.  I need to replace the transformer in the receiver
(which I have on hand) but it sure looks nice in my hamshack.  I am going
to use it on Straight Key Night this year (New Years Day).  Have fun with
your trip down memory lane!
