Good story, I have everything to put together my (not quite first) station 
but one thing. Remember, you had to have a Broadcast Band Receiver to 
monitor Coneirad stations?  Oddly enough that broadcast band receiver cost 
more today that my Challenger Transmitter or my HQ110 receiver. That was 
actually my 3rd generation novice station when I was about 13. The receiver 
was a Stewart Warner Varsity. Saw one on ebay go for almost $200.
