Hi Bill,

...to say nothing of all those 20W PEP military HF manpacks with a whip
antenna plugged into a socket on top of the case. They did not suffer
notably from internal EMC issues. Had any such radio malfunctioned in the
near-field of its own antenna, it would never have got out of acceptance
test.

They were probably afraid to design a HT rig because its hard to tell the
user that the "rubber ducky"antenna is too close to the rcvr and maybe you
had best relocate it down the street if you wan't the rig to work.I love T/T
gear,but ever wonder why NO major Dxpedtion has ever used T/T gear even when
