Maybe, but in a side-by-side comparison with my FT-1000 MP Mark-V with all
the filters, using the same antenna, I can copy weak signals on the Orion,
even with the "noise" that I can barely hear , or not hear at all,  on the
Yaesu.  I agree the "noise" is there, but the Orion still copies what the
Yaesu can't. In this test the Orion does not "mask puny signals" even though
it appears the Orion has high internal noise. I was concerned until I
satisfied myself with the comparison.
