[TenTec] bigger problem with update

i have now tried to update the Orion several times, twice the whole 9K lines
were processed but the version is still the original 1.356 rather than the
1.358 i downloaded ...

the only way the update would run was to turn off error checking ...

the first try took nearly 24 hours at the standard baud rate of 4800 ... the
second try only took about 5 hours by increasing the baud rate to 57600
...but neither attempt did anything

if i run the update with error checking the error message displays:
"communication with the radio has failed ...."

i know that com1 and com2 work fine as i can plug the KAM Plus into either
and run it just fine ...but neither works for the Orion ...

any help would be greatly appreciated

also in another matter: i cannot get MixW2 to transmit thru the Orion with
VOX on (no PTT connection) tho i am told VOX will work fine ...i think this
is related to the fact that i cannot get any sort of connection between the
computer and Orion even with the supplied 9 pin cable
