It occurs to me that the near resonance of the parasitic elements in a
yagi may be the only place where resonance does make an important
difference. A yagi with a non resonant driven element would have gain
and F/B ratio only if the parasitic elements are properly near
resonance. On the other hand if the parasitics are not properly near
resonance, a resonant driven element won't be any better than a
nonresonant one.
