It occurs to me that the near resonance of the parasitic elements in a 
yagi may be the only place where resonance does make an important 
difference. A yagi with a non resonant driven element would have gain 
and F/B ratio only if the parasitic elements are properly near 
resonance. On the other hand if the parasitics are not properly near 
resonance, a resonant driven element won't be any better than a 
nonresonant one.
