Removing the 253 from the keying control loop seems to have stopped the 
lockup problem. Now I have to come up with a good way to restore the 253 
ability to stop keying in the event of a fault condition detected by the 
253, without bringing back the lockup problem. Anyone been down this 
path already? Suggestions?
