My sentiments exactly! It's now time for you to go post on the Yaesu

Eric, you did indeed have some bad problems.

A lot of the people here went out of their way to try to help you.
Your dealer did a lot of back peddling to try to help you.
He even helped you get the new radio you now love so well.

I find it a bit curious that you would come back here after all of that and
effectively throw salt in the wounds of those who tried to help you. Not a
very nice Christmas gesture, sir!

For my part, I was simply not impressed by this post.

Anyway, Merry Christmas and I hope next time you rejoin us, you will find at
least a few kind words.

Rick

Hello all...

Finally I am a happy man for 2 days ! :-) It was a hard decision to sell my
Orion, but had no choice !

So now, I owned :

- A JA radio with poor numbers
- A non-SDR radio
- A radio with no bugs on the screen because it's using some LCD segments
- An AF gain control know with no dead spots
- A microphone that's working without tweaking when you put it in the mic
plug :-)
- An RF gain control know that's working for years and years (not just since
the last update)
- A monitor circuit with plenty of punch into the headphones
- A radio with 200w output power with no RFI / ground loop problems
- A class-A mode when your shack is a little cold during winter ! :-)
- A radio with no distortions at all in the speaker even on strong signals
(over S9+30dB)
- A radio with no hiss on the headphones when the AF Gain is fully counter
clockwise
- A radio that can be tuned to my favourite BC AM stations under 500KHz (183
and 234KHz for instance)
  (183KHz is 59+10dB, 234KHz is 59+20dB = was inaudible on the Orion)
- A radio with a fast and silent ATU that works on the 2 ant connectors
- A radio that is not exclusively dedicated to weak CW signal DXing on the
low bands ;-)

I miss :

- The military look of the Orion
- The continuously variable DSP BW
- The programmable AGC
- The real independant second receiver

Eric, happy ham for Christmas, thank you Santa "Yaesu" Claus.

PS : I'm ready to get flamed, again :-)

The Orion is a good start if they ever make it work is another thing. It's
a sad state of affairs when you can't get a mic to work.

I have a SDR Flex-Radio non of the Orion Problems and about $2000 cheaper
and I have source code.

My Orion for sale with the rest of the stuff $3500
