Not only different, but unique in its implementation of various digital
applications within its design. While the jury may still be out on its
superiority, its a solid platform for all the traditional modes and then
some. The Peg/Jup offering is an opportunity to experience innovation in its
best surroundings. There's plenty to like in its inital specs, and after
learning how to use it can be a surprising illumination of features that
stand out beyond the competition's same old same old. Just when you think
you've mastered its controls, it will show you something new and useful. It
resists appliance like predictability by forcing the operator to deal with
rf energy both outside the radio and as a result of the radio. This is
easily accomplished by most veteran hams, and presents a doable challenge to
the newbie. It inspires and amazes at best. It dissappoints if you are
passive to its needs and insist that the radio should do what you predict it
will.
