[TenTec] OMNI VI Question

You saw it in the Manual under "1-13 Frequency Stability at Turn
On".
If you leave the P.S. switched on, the oven keeps the crystal
warm.

The consensus has been that I should replace the battery and I
have done so.
Problem is, we have to wait until tomorrow to know if it's OK.

Update tomorrow.

Thanks to all who responded!

I don't remember where I saw it, but it was recommended that the
power
supply remain on and the Omni switched off if desired. I have
had an Omni
almost 3 years. The power supply was switched off a couple of
times when
re wiring the AC, otherwise always ON. Never had any problem
with loosing
memory. The Omni power supply barely shows any temp at all in
that standby
condition.73 Ken WA4RPH

Subject: [TenTec] OMNI VI Question

How long does the built-in battery keep data saved to the OMNI
VI's memory?

I'm referring to stuff like the clock's time, and other menu
settings.

If I turn my power supply off overnight, the next day the OMNI
has forgotten everything.
If I leave the power supply on and only turn the OMNI off, all is
OK.
If I turn the power supply off for only a short while, all is
still OK.

It seems to me my OMNI VI has always behaved this way.
Is this normal, or should the info normally remain in memory much
longer?

Thanks for any comments.
