Almost forgot to tell you, Mark...

The Omni-D (actually any of the old, black Omni rigs) will not operate
properly on 17 meters (the 18 MHz band).  This is because various mixer
products produce spurious output on that band.  Remember that the 9 MHz IF's
second harmonic is 18 MHz, but this is not the only source of the trouble.
The Omni's do work well on 10 and 24 MHz, however.
