[TenTec] Why is the Jupiter better?

Dennis and others,

I appologize - my grey cells mixed things up (once again).
[To my knowledge] There is not yet a 746 PRO II on the market.
I confused it up with the 756.
Sorry if I caused a few hearts to skip a beat!

I wasn't aware that iCom announced a 746ProII. Is that a non-U.S. market
only for the time being? I haven't seen any advertised. If this is the 746
series you are indeed referring to, I'd like to see a spec sheet on the
changes made from the regular Pro version. Something tells me iCom would
have to do a 746ProII in order to release itself from the TX failure stigma
it has "achieved" on eHam.

This a an interesting thread alot of good points. But for those that have
access to the ARRL technical evaluations of each of these 2 radios (Jupiter
& 746Pro) , that's where my focus is in trying to compare apples to apples.
In this respect this is an important aspect of the Jupiter's appeal to me .
And of course the software update capability of the Jupiter is much more
than just a tie-breaker of sorts, it's practically the majority of the
Jupiter's appeal to me.
