[TenTec] New Contest Confirmation: "EU"

Hey, have I been asleep or what?

After 42 years of contesting, this recent IARU contest taught me
a new lesson.
Apparently when one calls CQ, receives a call, and completes a
QSO, if the calling station is in Europe, you acknowledge
completion with "EU".

Well, at least that's what I thought the first 10 or 15 times I
received that signal.

Then it dawned on me: "TU" vs. "EU". Good radio vs. cheap
radio (or rice box).

I don't know why that never caught my eye (or ear) before.

By the way, one of the culprits was one of our BCC management
staff members operating DA0HQ (who probably won again for the
third time in a row). I will check into it and assertain what
kind of rig it is but I suspect TS-850.

And another point: Over all the years, I simply never paid any
attention to strong stations with strong key clicks. After being
a member of this reflector group for almost a year now, it has
come to my attention that FT-1000's produce key clicks and now
for the first time ever (recognized) I heard many stations with
strong key clicks.
