Actual on the air observation has shown over the past month that 20 mtrs is
a better band than either 40 or 80m. Significantly less QRN and much more
activity. 20m is frequently open until about 4am, whereas 40 m almost closes
up around 7 to 8pm, mostly due to high QRN, activity drops drastically. High
bands are not dead yet, but summertime enduced activities sure have dropped
ham band activity. Except during a contest of course!!
