Check electronics distributors in your area, tinned solid bus wire in
lengths is sold and our stock room at work gets it from one.

You can strip off insulation from discarded conduit wire and use the
untinned soft copper.  Tinning is not needed after you tap the coil, or you
can tin the wire yourself.   Liquid tinning plating solutions are sold, or
just use a big old soldering copper, and your time.
